In Kiambu County, on Wednesday, a heartbreaking and tragic incident happened after a woman was brutally murdered by her husband in front of their children.
The shocking event left many residents speechless as the man fled the scene, leaving the young children in fear after witnessing the painful moment.
According to a report by the police, when officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman’s lifeless body lying on the floor in a pool of blood. She had deep cuts on her head and neck, showing that she had been slashed with a sharp object.
“It was a painful scene. The woman had serious injuries, and it was clear she struggled before being overpowered,” said one of the officers who visited the scene.
Police added that after the husband committed the cruel act, he escaped to avoid arrest, leaving the children crying and confused.
“The children were left in deep shock. They were too scared to speak at first,” said a police source.
After interrogating the children, officers learned that the couple had been fighting before the incident. Unfortunately, the woman was overpowered by her husband during the confrontation.
“Our father took a panga and attacked our mother as we screamed,” one of the children reportedly said.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing to trace the suspect and ensure he faces justice.
Meanwhile, the children have been taken in by the deceased woman’s brother-in-law for care and protection.
“We are doing everything possible to arrest the suspect and bring him to court,” police stated.
