Drama as Prominent Politician Attacked By Goons, Beaten at His Home After Dumping His Party

On Saturday, former Masieti MCA Bernard Ng’ang’a was attacked by a group of goons at his home in Bungoma County. This happened just days after he announced that he had left Ford Kenya, the political party he was previously supporting.

In a video that is now circulating on social media, the attackers are seen throwing stones at him. Some of them are also seen beating him using sticks. The former MCA was trying to protect himself using his hands as he cried out for help.

According to his wife, Bernard had earlier received threats after he publicly declared that he would be joining a new political party. She said that in one of the threats, he was warned that he would be "disciplined" on Saturday for making such a move.

“They warned him, and sadly they did what they said. He didn’t deserve this,” she said.

She strongly condemned the attack, saying that every Kenyan, including her husband, has the freedom to choose which political party to support or leave.

“This is not just wrong, it is dangerous. He has the right to move to any party,” she added.

She also confirmed that the goons ran away after villagers came to help. The former MCA is now receiving treatment for injuries he got during the attack.
