On Monday evening, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mr. Amin Mohamed spoke about the missing blogger who created the protest "Time Table."
Amin said clearly that the blogger is not being held in any police station or cell in Kenya. He added that the police have not arrested him, and they are not keeping him anywhere.
However, in his speech, Amin seemed to suggest that the blogger is actually hiding. He did not mention the exact location, but he asked the young man to come out and surrender himself to the police.
“He should stop hiding and face the law,” Amin said. “Let him report to the nearest police station so that he can be taken to court.”
According to Amin, there is a possibility that the blogger faked his own kidnapping. He said the young man may have done this to escape arrest after he posted content online that the government believes could disturb the peace and order of the country.
“What he did was not right. It was dangerous,” Amin explained.
Amin also said that all Kenyans know that the blogger broke the law by creating a protest schedule and sharing it with the public. He added that such actions are serious and cannot go without punishment.
“He planned something illegal, the law must be followed, and even he must be held accountable like anyone else," he said.
However, this is after the high Court ordered him and IG Dauglas Kanja to produce the missing blogger.
