On Tuesday morning, in Kilifi County, residents stormed the home of a school principal who was allegedly involved in impregnating a form two student, as reported by various media outlets.
In an act described as mob justice, the residents killed the principal and set his house on fire. His wife was also reportedly attacked by the angry mob and sustained serious injuries.
After killing him, the mob chopped off the principal's legs and fled the scene. Police officers arrived shortly after and condemned the residents' actions.
They took the principal's body to the morgue while his wife was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
According to the residents, they felt compelled to take the law into their own hands because they believed the principal had severely impacted the future of his student.
However, law enforcement officials stated that such actions were unacceptable and vowed to arrest those involved.
