On Tuesday, ODM politician Robert Alai accused Kisii leaders of orchestrating an attack on Raila Odinga during his visit to the county stadium.
Alai revealed that the leaders' names were on a list provided to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and that authorities were set to arrest and detain them any time.
In a scathing statement, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) condemned the Kisii leaders for what he called a "daylight betrayal," referencing the public heckling of Raila Odinga by Kisii residents. Despite the chaos at the stadium, no action had been taken against those responsible.
Alai emphasized Raila's long-standing sacrifices to improve the lives of Kisii residents and their leaders. He expressed disappointment that, despite this, they had turned against him. Alai insisted that the leaders should be held accountable for allegedly hiring goons to ambush Raila during an important event aimed at launching several development projects.
