"Someone Wants Me Silenced” — Boniface Mwangi Raises Alarm After Startling Find in His Bag

Human rights activist and former presidential hopeful Boniface Mwangi has sounded the alarm over what he describes as a coordinated attempt to intimidate or harm him, after allegedly discovering a spent bullet casing inside his carry-on luggage.

In a statement released on Sunday, October 12, Mwangi recounted the frightening incident which he says occurred on October 9, while he was traveling from Nairobi to Malindi.

According to Mwangi, he personally packed his travel bag and passed through two security checks at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) before the bag was temporarily taken from him by airport staff.

He noted that moments before boarding, his luggage was replaced with a baggage claim slip, and upon arrival in Malindi, he was stunned to find a used bullet casing carefully tucked between his clothes.

“The spent cartridge was slipped into my bag during the short time it wasn’t in my possession,” Mwangi alleged.

“There is only one way to interpret this — it’s a direct threat to my life.”

The activist, known for his outspoken stance against government corruption and police brutality, suggested that the incident may be part of a larger campaign of intimidation aimed at silencing his voice.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding Mwangi’s claims.
