RIP: Kisii Businessman Murdered in Cold Blood After Attending Raila's Burial, Body Found in His Home

Shock and grief have engulfed Getare village in Nyamira County following the brutal killing of 35-year-old businessman Philip Bosire, just a day after returning home from attending the mourning ceremony of the late Raila Odinga.

Bosire, a respected entrepreneur known for his active involvement in local community projects, was found dead inside his home on Monday morning.

According to police reports, his body had deep injuries on the head and back, indicating he was attacked by unknown assailants. Several items, including a television set and mobile phones, were reported missing, suggesting robbery may have been a motive.

Neighbors said Bosire had arrived in the village on Sunday evening after traveling from Kisumu, where he had joined thousands of mourners paying their last respects to the late Raila Odinga.

His sudden death has left residents stunned, with many describing him as a humble and hardworking man who had no known enemies.

“We were shocked to hear that Bosire, who was just here yesterday speaking about how sad he was over Raila’s death, has been killed,” said one villager.

Nyamira County Police Commander confirmed that investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have already visited the scene, collected evidence, and launched a manhunt for the suspects.

The family of the deceased has called on authorities to speed up the investigation and bring the culprits to justice. Bosire’s body was moved to Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
