"Being a Party Chair Doesn't Mean You Can't Be Kicked Out" — Cracks Loom in ODM as Governor Wanga Receives Powerful Message Over Alleged Misconduct

On Sunday, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga received a strong warning from ODM supporters who told her that if she continues to misbehave as a party chairperson, she might soon be kicked out of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The supporters said being a chair does not give her the right to act above other members of the party.

In a statement allegedly led by popular ODM supporter Nuru Okanga, the group accused Governor Wanga of misconduct and showing disrespect toward other members of the party.

They said she has been openly criticizing some ODM leaders, a move that they believe could cause serious divisions within the party.

“We respect Wanga, but she must remember that ODM is bigger than any individual,” one supporter was quoted saying.

The supporters further claimed that Governor Wanga has been acting like the ODM party boss, making remarks that appear to target leaders such as Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga.

They described her comments as inappropriate and unacceptable within ODM, saying that the late Raila Odinga never encouraged such behavior among his team.

They warned that if Governor Wanga continues with her current conduct, she risks being shown the door and advised to form her own political party.

The supporters reminded her that leadership within ODM requires respect, unity, and discipline, not personal pride or division.
