On Thursday, one political analyst, revealed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta had a private discussion with Luo leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
The discussion, according to analyst, came at a sensitive time as the nation mourns the passing of Raila Odinga.
Analyst claimed that Uhuru met with a section of Luo leaders to agree on strategies and decisions for the upcoming elections.
The meeting was said to be focused on guiding the community on who to support and who to avoid when the next general elections take place.
According to the politician, the former president may have advised the Luo leaders on their preferred candidates.
“He might have already given directions on who they should vote for and who they should stay away from,” He said.
He further added that Raila’s death has opened a new political space. Uhuru Kenyatta is now seen as a key figure, not just among the Luo community but also in the Mountain region.
“After Raila’s passing, Uhuru will act as the Kingpin. Everyone will be listening to him, and his influence will shape the political scene,” analyst explained.
This revelation is likely to worry President William Ruto as it suggests that Uhuru is quietly strengthening his influence ahead of 2027.
