Boniface Kariuki, a man who sold face masks in Nairobi, has been declared brain dead after being shot by a police officer during protests on Tuesday, June 17.
His family spoke to journalists at Kenyatta National Hospital on Sunday, June 29. They said doctors told them that Boniface's brain is no longer working.
Now, the family is just waiting for the doctors to officially confirm that he is clinically dead.
