Kenyans watched in shock as the graveside of the late Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga was destroyed just a few hours after military officers laid him to rest in his father’s land in Bondo, Siaya County.

Youths were seen dancing on the grave, celebrating and destroying the flowers which were placed there by the President of the republic of Kenya and other dignitaries. Well, details have emerged of why it happened that way.

However, sources close to the Odinga family clarified that these actions were not acts of disrespect but rather part of a Luo cultural tradition.

Such rituals are performed to honor noble leaders and are a sign of respect and celebration of their life and achievements.

The grave was later restored, and the community embraced the cultural significance of the event.
