A mysterious fire early Saturday morning razed down the residence of Rangwe Member of Parliament, Hon. Lilian Gogo, leaving behind massive destruction estimated at millions of shillings.
According to reports, the fire erupted in the early hours under unclear circumstances. Witnesses say flames spread rapidly, consuming furniture, electronics, and other valuables before firefighters managed to contain the inferno.
Preliminary findings suggest the fire may have been an act of arson, although investigators have yet to establish the motive or identify any suspects.
Hon. Gogo, who represents Rangwe Constituency under the ODM Party, was away at the time of the incident. Neighbors, who watched helplessly as the flames tore through the house, expressed relief that no one was injured.
Security officers and fire brigade teams quickly responded, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby homes. Police have since cordoned off the scene and launched a full investigation into the cause of the blaze.
Local leaders and residents have condemned the incident, urging authorities to move swiftly to uncover those behind the suspected arson and strengthen security in the area.
