"I'm So Pissed" – Akothee Sends Powerful Message to Kenyans After Ruth Odinga and Raila Junior Were Bullied

Singer and socialite Akothee has expressed deep anger and disappointment at how Kenyans are behaving online. She posed a question to the public: what has really happened to us as a people?

Akothee lamented that, in the past, people cared for and respected one another, but now, many seem intent on hurting others and laughing about it.

She criticized the current state of social media, especially TikTok, calling much of the content pure wickedness, mockery, and disrespect.

She said she cannot understand how people find joy in laughing at someone else’s pain.

“There is no entertainment in shaming others,” she stated, citing Hon. Ruth Odinga as an example of someone deserving respect due to her age and leadership.

Akothee also addressed those making fun of Raila Junior, questioning what anyone gains from laughing at another person’s illness or challenges.

“This behavior that people call jokes is not funny at all. It is cyberbullying, harassment, and cruelty for likes and views,” she said.

As a mother, Akothee said she is hurt seeing young people grow up without kindness. She urged Kenyans to start teaching children to be compassionate rather than mocking others.

She also encouraged reporting disrespectful content and called on everyone to help restore humanity on social media.

“Behind every phone screen is a real person, a real family, and a human being who feels pain,” she added. She concluded by expressing her frustration and disappointment, urging Kenyans to stop being cruel for the sake of trending online and to bring back respect, kindness, and humanity.
