"I Will Expose Them": Nuru Okanga Puts Central MPs on Notice After Raila’s Burial

Outspoken political activist Nuru Okanga, a staunch supporter of the late Raila Odinga, has sparked fresh political tension after vowing to expose Members of Parliament from the Mount Kenya region whom he accuses of promoting tribal politics.

Speaking shortly after attending Raila Odinga’s burial in Bondo, Okanga announced that he is compiling a list of leaders he claims failed to show unity during the national mourning period for the late opposition leader.

He said the list will be used to reveal which MPs are true patriots and which ones, in his view, practice divisive politics.

“I will expose them one by one,” Okanga declared, adding that his campaign aims to separate leaders who stand for national unity from those he called ‘Mkabila’ — meaning tribalists.

Okanga further revealed that he has been studying the performance of Mt Kenya MPs, comparing those aligned with the government to those in the opposition.

According to him, opposition-leaning lawmakers such as Babu Owino and Ndindi Nyoro have achieved stronger development results in the last three years than senior government figures like Kimani Ichung’wah.

However, he singled out Kangema MP Peter Kihungi for praise, describing him as “the only standout on Ruto’s side.” Okanga commended Kihungi for his investments in education and infrastructure and for joining mourners during Raila’s burial — a gesture he said showed genuine empathy and leadership.

Okanga’s new campaign has already stirred debate online, with many Kenyans eager to see the list he has promised to release and the reactions it might provoke among Central Kenya leaders.
