“I was fired for refusing to be a church prostitute" Ex- Catholic Sister Exposes Abuse and Hypocrisy in the Church

A former Catholic sister has sparked a nationwide debate after publicly exposing what she described as deep-rooted abuse, hypocrisy, and exploitation inside the Church.

Sr. Kinse Annastasia, who once served in a Catholic congregation, shared an emotional post on her Facebook page revealing that she was dismissed from her order after refusing what she called “immoral advances” from a priest.

“I was fired for refusing to be a church prostitute,” she wrote, in a post that quickly went viral and touched the hearts of many believers and former religious members.

In her post, Sr. Annastasia painted a painful picture of what life is like behind convent walls — a world that, according to her, silences women who dare to speak against injustice and misconduct.

She accused some priests of misusing their authority to exploit sisters, calling it a betrayal of the vows and values of the Church

She wrote that religious sisters dedicate their lives to God, not to serve priests in sinful or humiliating ways.

“We are not wives, concubines, or property of priests,” she said firmly. “We are servants of Christ, called to prayer, humility, and charity.”

Her words drew strong reactions from people across the country. Many current and former sisters commented that they had gone through similar experiences but were too afraid to speak out.

Sr. Annastasia further claimed that fear and institutional silence have protected abusers within the Church for years, creating a culture where wrongdoing continues without punishment. She urged Church leaders to face the truth and create safe systems for reporting abuse without fear of revenge or shame.

“Protecting abusers in the name of preserving the Church’s image only makes things worse,” she warned. “True holiness means confronting sin, not hiding it.”

Her testimony has inspired many to call for greater accountability and transparency within the Church. While some defenders of the Church dismissed her claims, others praised her courage, saying her voice could spark real reform.

Sr. Annastasia ended her message by promising to continue fighting for justice, equality, and respect for all women serving in the Church.
