In a statement made on Friday during a crucial meeting in Ngong, Nairobi County, former President Uhuru Kenyatta urged all Gen Z in the country to continue showing courage.

He told them to keep speaking up about what they want the government to do for them without fear. Uhuru reminded them that their voice is powerful and they should never remain silent when things are going wrong.

The former president went on to applaud Gen Z for their previous protests, where they came out on the streets to express their grievances.

He said that young people should continue with the same spirit because it is the only way to improve not only their future but also the future of the whole country. According to him, Gen Z has the powers to bring the change they want.

“Never fear to say the truth, because the truth is what will push leaders to act,” he stated.

Uhuru was sending this message to Gen Z after he openly accused President William Ruto of failing to deliver on the promises he gave Kenyans during the campaigns. He said that Ruto’s government has brought more suffering to Kenyans compared to his Jubilee regime.

“We were told life would be easier, but today Kenyans are carrying heavier burdens than before,” Uhuru claimed.

He went further to slam Ruto for removing the Linda Mama health program, which used to help many mothers across the country. According to Uhuru, the replacement programs are not working and are leaving families struggling.

He also criticized the government for interfering with the free education programs that were in place during his regime.

“Education and health are the backbone of a strong nation, and removing them is killing the dreams of our children,” he said.

Uhuru also accused the president of doing nothing serious to fight corruption. He stressed that corruption is still eating the country just the same way it was before, and he does not see any real commitment from Ruto’s government to address it.

“Corruption is destroying our nation, and if leaders do not act now, Kenyans will continue to suffer,” Uhuru added.

The former president ended by encouraging Gen Z to stand strong and never lose hope. He said the future of Kenya is in their hands and they should always use their voice to push for better leadership.
