The ODM party has spoken out about the sad death of blogger and X influencer Albert Ojwang. Through its Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, the party has strongly condemned what happened to Ojwang, who is said to have died while in police custody. Sifuna said the party is deeply shocked and hurt by the loss.
In a statement, Edwin Sifuna asked the government to move quickly and begin a full investigation into the matter. He said they want to know who was behind the killing of Albert Ojwang and why it happened.
“We demand a serious and speedy investigation to find out who killed this young man and what the motive was,” Sifuna said.
Sifuna also questioned the way Ojwang was arrested and moved. He said the ODM party is not happy that Ojwang was taken by the DCI from Homa Bay, which already has many police stations, and brought all the way to Nairobi.
“Why was Albert Ojwang transported from Homa Bay to Nairobi when there are enough police stations in Homa Bay? We need answers,” Sifuna added.
He went on to say that the ODM party will not stay silent. They will keep pushing the government to speed up the investigations and make sure justice is served.
“We will not rest until Albert gets justice. We will keep the pressure on until the truth comes out,” said Sifuna.
