Iran’s Nukes Suffer Major Hit in Surprise U.S. Strike, Israeli President Confirms

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has described the recent U.S. military strike on Iran as a “historic” and “brave” action, speaking in an exclusive interview with the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg.

When asked whether the strike had fully destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities, Herzog said he didn’t know all the details. However, he strongly believes that Iran’s nuclear program has been “substantially damaged.”

Responding to whether Israel had asked former U.S. President Donald Trump to launch the attack, Herzog explained that Israel chose to leave that decision to the Americans. He also revealed that he had no prior knowledge of the strike and was actually woken up when it happened.

Asked if this means Israel will now stop its own attacks on Iran, Herzog didn’t give a clear yes or no. Instead, he pointed out that Iran continues to launch missiles at Israeli territory, and Israel must do whatever is necessary to protect itself.

He added that resolving the conflict will require international cooperation and a clear exit strategy to prevent further escalation.
