Gachagua Blamed Over Killings of Albert Ojwang and Others

On Thursday, former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu blamed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for failing to name the people behind the recent abductions and extra-judicial killings.

Wambugu revealed that if Gachagua had taken action earlier, some of the killings might have been avoided.

In his statement, Wambugu narrated that Gachagua had once claimed publicly that he knew the people who were responsible for these crimes. However, he never mentioned their names or helped the authorities to stop them.

“Gachagua told us that he knows who is doing this and the mistake he made was keeping quiet instead of telling the truth. If he had named them, we could have saved lives," Wambugu said.

Wambugu went on to say that if Gachagua had spoken out and exposed the names of those behind these crimes, maybe Albert Ojwang and other innocent Kenyans would still be alive today.

“We lost Ojwang and others because of silence. That silence has cost lives,” he added.

He also said that Gachagua has caused many problems in the country by not telling the truth. Wambugu believes that if Gachagua had said who was behind the abductions and killings, Kenyans would not be mourning now.

“Gachagua’s silence helped these crimes to continue. We are now crying because people have died,” he said.
