CS Opiyo Wandayi's Plea to Gen Z Ahead of Planned Protest

On Thursday, Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi sent a strong message to Gen Z. He asked them to stop the planned protests, saying the government has heard their cries. Wandayi said the leaders have listened and changes will be made soon to address their concerns.

In his statement, Wandayi said the Kenya Kwanza government has always been there for its people. He added that when reports came out that police officers were using too much force and harming innocent Kenyans, the government was shocked.

“We are surprised by some police officers who are going against their duty by hurting the same people they are meant to protect,” Wandayi said.

He went on to say the government is also asking when these bad actions by some officers will stop.

“We want police officers to follow the law and do their work in the right way. It is wrong for them to beat or shoot Kenyans,” he explained.

Wandayi also shared some good news. He promised that from today, the government will make sure all police officers follow the law and respect the rights of Kenyans.

“We will not allow anyone in uniform to break the law again,” he said.
