Bishop and Daughter Linked to Alleged Plot to Disrupt Protests via Leaked Chats

Kenyans have been left shocked and concerned after leaked WhatsApp chats allegedly linked a prominent bishop and his daughter to plans aimed at disrupting the upcoming nationwide protests.

According to a report aired by a local media house on Monday, screenshots of WhatsApp conversations surfaced online, showing a woman — claimed to be the daughter of a well-known bishop — talking about organizing groups to interfere with Wednesday’s demonstrations.

In the chats, she reportedly discussed ways to mobilize people who could cause disruptions during the protests.

The media report also mentioned claims by some activists that the bishop himself was seen in a separate WhatsApp group, allegedly discussing how chaos might unfold during the protests.

This particular group was said to have connections to individuals believed to be close to the government. However, none of these claims have been independently verified.

As the Gen Z movement prepares to take to the streets, Kenyans are being urged to remain peaceful and alert. There are growing concerns that outside actors may try to hijack the protests and create unnecessary tension.

Vihiga.xyz stands with all Kenyans who are peacefully demanding justice and accountability. According to Article 37 of the Kenyan Constitution, every person has the right to assemble, demonstrate, picket, and present petitions peacefully.

Speaking on the issue, legal expert Martha Nyambura, an advocate of the High Court, stated:

"All accused persons remain innocent until proven guilty. If any individual is suspected of attempting to interfere with public demonstrations, it is important that investigations are done through proper legal processes.”
