Speaking on Saturday morning with reporters, former Attorney General Justin Muturi said that the opposition is carefully watching President William Ruto’s actions.
He explained that they are keeping records of how public money is being used, and any money that is misused will be recovered if a new government takes over in 2027.
“We are not sleeping. Every cent being misused will be followed and recovered once the new government is formed after 2027,” said Muturi.
In his statement, Muturi warned that Ruto will not walk away freely if he loses in the 2027 election. He said the president will be held responsible for the money he has allegedly misused, especially through projects like the affordable housing plan.
“He thinks he can hide behind these fancy projects like affordable housing, but we know what’s going on. That money will be accounted for,” Muturi said.
Muturi also admitted that for now, the opposition has no real power to force the president to answer for his actions. But he said they are patiently waiting for the right time.
“Right now, we can only speak. But when Ruto goes home in 2027, he will face the law. We are preparing for that day,” he added.
