Speaking on Sunday, as reported by one of the media houses, Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen warned politicians in the country against turning security issues into politics. He said that Kenyans expect peace and not chaos.
“This country is bigger than politics. We must not use matters of security to divide people or cause trouble,” he said.
In his statement, Murkomen said that some politicians have been blaming him after the recent murder of a Catholic priest. He said that he will not respond to their accusations but warned them not to make him angry.
“I will not be dragged into petty politics. But they should not provoke me,” Murkomen said.
According to the CS, these politicians are using the death of the priest to attack him, claiming he is silent. Murkomen said he is not silent but is allowing the responsible security agencies to do their work.
“I have not kept quiet. I just believe in giving space to the right authorities to do their investigations,” he explained.
Murkomen gave a strong warning that if these politicians do not listen to his advice, he might be forced to take legal action against them.
“If they continue like this, I will be angry. And when I get angry, I will go to court,” he warned.
