A traffic jam along the Mai Mahiu-Nairobi Highway took a shocking turn when a 55-year-old lorry driver was discovered dead inside his cabin near Mutarakwa, Kiambu County.
The driver, Patrick Tsuma Okuon, was found unresponsive by concerned motorists who noticed the stationary trailer causing disruption along the busy route.
Upon approaching the vehicle, drivers observed that the engine was still running and the gear was in neutral, but the driver showed no signs of life. They quickly intervened, stopping the trailer and preventing potential accidents.
Police were notified and confirmed that Okuon had passed away at the wheel. Officers retrieved medication from the cabin, suggesting that he may have been dealing with an underlying medical condition.
Authorities reported that Okuon was alone at the time of the incident and was en route to Nairobi from an undisclosed location.
The sudden death has sent shockwaves through motorists and raised awareness about the importance of driver health and safety on heavily trafficked roads.
