Shock as Witnesses Reveal What Raila Was Doing Before He Collapsed and Died

Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga has died in India, where he had been undergoing treatment. Reports indicate that the longtime opposition leader collapsed on Wednesday morning, October 15, while taking part in his usual morning walk.

According to multiple sources, Raila had traveled to Koothattukulam, Kerala, a few days earlier to receive Ayurvedic therapy. Witnesses say he was in high spirits before suddenly losing consciousness.

Medical staff at Devamatha Hospital tried to resuscitate him, but he was declared dead shortly after 9:52 a.m. Indian time.

Family members, including his daughter, were by his side during the incident. The family is expected to release an official statement confirming the tragedy.

Raila, who served as Kenya’s Prime Minister from 2008 to 2013, was widely respected for his fight for democracy and equality throughout his decades-long political career.

Those who were present say his final words were calm and hopeful — he reportedly told his companions, “I will be okay soon,” moments before collapsing.
