In Luanda, Vihiga County, a mathematics teacher has been suspended and later dismissed after she accidentally sent her inappropriate photos to a students’ WhatsApp group, causing panic and outrage among parents and the school community.
According to reports, the teacher explained that the photos were meant for her new boyfriend but mistakenly ended up in the students’ group.
“It was an honest mistake. I was chatting with my boyfriend and accidentally sent the photos to the wrong group. I am deeply sorry and ashamed,” she reportedly said.
However, the school’s Board of Management (BOM) stated that such a serious mistake could not be overlooked.
“This kind of behavior sets a bad example to students. Regardless of intent, the act was highly inappropriate and cannot go unpunished,” a BOM member said, confirming her dismissal.
The school management has since apologized to parents, assuring them that strict measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.
“We sincerely regret what happened and assure parents that the matter has been handled firmly. We will reinforce digital communication ethics among staff,” the school administration noted.
