Raila Odinga's Brother Oburu Opens Up On Their Last Phone Call Hours Before His Death


Oburu Odinga, the elder brother of the late Raila Odinga, could hardly hold back tears as he spoke about the loss of Kenya’s former Prime Minister.

The Siaya Senator said his brother’s death in India came as a shock to the entire family, describing it as the most painful moment of his life.

Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi, Oburu said he had spoken to Raila only a few hours before he died. According to him, Raila sounded healthy and was full of life when they last talked on the night of Tuesday, October 14.

“He was doing very well last night. We spoke on the phone, and he was cheerful and energetic,” Oburu said, struggling to contain his emotions.

“This morning, everything changed. Doctors said he suffered a sudden heart attack. I don’t even have the strength to talk right now.”
