DCI Finally Responds After Rogue Officers in Kasarani Allegedly Swindle Woman Ksh 300,000

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched an inquiry into claims that police officers from Kasarani Police Station allegedly defrauded a woman identified as Glo Lyne of Ksh 300,000.

In an official statement, the DCI Director confirmed that he had instructed the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer (SCCIO) in Kasarani to expedite investigations and ensure that those involved face justice without delay.

He also condemned the alleged mistreatment the woman endured.

“The DCI Director has directed the SCCIO/DCIO Kasarani to fast-track investigations into these allegations and report on the findings. We shall issue an update on the matter, including the actions taken, once the inquiry is complete,” read part of the statement.

According to reports, Glo Lyne—who was working abroad at the time—mistakenly sent the money to the wrong number and decided to fly back to Kenya to recover it.

Upon filing her complaint at the Kasarani Police Station, officers reportedly traced the recipient of the funds to Kisumu and arrested him.

However, it is alleged that some officers later made false claims that the suspect had escaped to Tanzania, even though he was already in custody and the money had been diverted to their accounts.

The DCI has assured the public that justice will be served once investigations conclude.
