Suba North MP Millie Mabona has condemned social media users mocking Raila Odinga Jr., following videos on TikTok that imitate the way he speaks.
The videos drew widespread attention online, prompting some Kenyans to voice concern over the insensitive content.
Taking to Facebook, MP Mabona urged citizens to show compassion and forgive Raila Jr., highlighting the importance of empathy.
Raila Jr. was diagnosed with acoustic neuroma, a rare, noncancerous tumor affecting the nerve connecting the ear to the brain. The tumor caused partial facial paralysis on one side of his face.
His late father, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, shared that despite undergoing therapy and specialized treatment, full recovery was never achieved, with doctors confirming permanent nerve damage.
He continues to inspire many through his strength, humility, and determination, while also helping manage his late father’s business ventures.
MP Mabona’s statement serves as a reminder for Kenyans to respect public figures facing health challenges and avoid spreading harmful jokes or content online.
