CBK Asks Kenyans to Share Ideas on How to Improve Loan Information Website

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) wants help from Kenyans to improve its website that shows the full cost of taking a loan. The website, called the Total Cost of Credit (TCC), was started in 2017 to help people understand all the charges before borrowing money.

The CBK created the site with the Kenya Bankers Association so that individuals and businesses could easily compare loan offers from different banks.

But now, CBK says the site is outdated and does not match how the financial world has changed. So, they plan to upgrade it and are asking Kenyans to give their opinions by filling out a survey.

This survey will help CBK know what is working on the site and what needs to be fixed. They also want to make the website easier to use and better at helping people make smart money decisions.

The survey is for bank customers, people using mortgage and microfinance services, and the general public. The answers will help shape the new version of the site to better serve everyone.

CBK hopes this will also teach people more about loans and stop them from falling into bad borrowing situations. They want all interested Kenyans to fill in the survey before July 15, 2025. The link to the form is available on the TCC website, and people with questions can email fin@centralbank.go.ke.
