On Wednesday night, a shocking incident happened in Roysambu, Nairobi, when the son of a senior government officer reportedly shot and killed a young man.
According to sources who spoke to local media, the son of the government official had a disagreement with the man, who was only 23 years old. The argument quickly became serious, and after a short time, people nearby heard a gunshot.
"It happened so fast. One minute they were arguing, and the next minute, we heard a loud bang," said one witness who asked not to be named.
Surprisingly, even after the police were informed about the shooting, no immediate action was taken. Locals say the young man who shot the resident was not arrested and is still walking around freely. This has left many Kenyans angry and questioning whether the law is only for the poor.
“If it was a normal citizen who pulled the trigger, they would be in jail by now,” said another concerned resident.
The body of the victim was later taken to the morgue as the family and friends continue to mourn. So far, no official statement has been made by the police or the government officer involved.
Many are now calling for justice and demanding that the law be applied equally to everyone.
