On Friday, a well-known politician from Central Kenya came out to accuse Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen of being behind the violence that happened during the June 25 protests in Nairobi.

According to a report by a local media house, the politician said he has strong information that Murkomen helped organize the chaos that was seen on that day.

In his strong statement, the politician said that once Murkomen realized that Kenyans had discovered his role in sponsoring goons to cause trouble, he quickly went to visit the places where shops and other properties were destroyed.

“He only visited those areas to pretend he cares. But the truth is, he knew what had happened, and he was trying to hide his guilt,” the politician said.

He also added that the goons who were seen looting shops in the Nairobi Central Business District were supported by Murkomen and other senior leaders.

“They are the ones who sent these people to cause destruction. Visiting the area afterwards was just a way to cover up the truth,” he said.

The politician went on to say that he personally saw police officers guarding the looters instead of stopping them.

“Why would police protect goons unless someone big like the CS told them to? Murkomen must have known what was going on,” he claimed.

He finished by saying it is time for Kenyans to stand up and reject leaders who spread violence instead of peace.

“We must use the law to stop such leaders. We can’t let people in power destroy our country,” he said.
