Peaceful Protest in Mombasa Turns Violent as Police Officer Assaulted By Gen Z

A peaceful protest in Mombasa County turned violent after a police officer was attacked by a group of young protestors believed to be from Gen Z.

In a video shared by a media house, the officer was suddenly ambushed by the crowd, and several protestors started beating him while he was on duty. What started as a calm demonstration quickly turned into chaos.

Private security guards who were nearby rushed to help the injured officer. The protestors who were beating him did not explain why they were doing it.

“We didn’t even understand their reason. They just started hitting him,” said one of the guards who stepped in.

The guards tried to calm the protestors and stop the violence, but the situation got worse. Some of the young people even threatened to attack the guards too. However, the officer was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.

“He was bleeding and needed help fast,” another guard said.

Later on, the guards condemned the violent actions, calling them inhuman.

“This officer was only doing his job to keep peace. Attacking him like that is wrong and unfair,” one of them stated.
