The former AG said that the police officers working under IG Kanja were the same ones who took part in the kidnapping.
“You can’t act like you don’t know what’s going on when it’s your own officers doing it,” the former AG said.
He also claimed that some police officers were seen looking for the MP around town. He said they wanted to arrest him. On the day Koimburi disappeared—Sunday—those same officers were seen in the area where he was taken by force.
“They were clearly there when he was kidnapped. They must explain why they didn’t stop it,” the former AG added.
He told IG Kanja to stop defending the police and instead call in the officers involved. He said the IG should ask them why they wanted to arrest Koimburi and what charges they had against him.
“Talk to your officers and ask serious questions. This is not a small matter,” the former AG warned.
