Murder Suspects Claim Innocence and Plead for Freedom in Court, Case Suspended for 13 Days

On Thursday, eight individuals connected to a high-profile murder case appeared in court for their arraignment. The suspects, quickly pleading not guilty, bowed before the magistrate, fervently asking for their release and for the case against them to be dropped, calling it a smear on their reputations.

The group was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in connection with the alleged murder of a politician and activist. Reports suggest they stabbed the victim and then proceeded to hack him to ensure he did not survive.

One of the accused fervently declared, “We didn’t do this, Mr. Magistrate. We are God-fearing individuals and have no knowledge of how to kill. Please grant us release. Even if we did, God has forgiven us, and we didn’t commit this act.”

Another suspect echoed similar sentiments, pleading for their freedom, citing the families they need to support. The third suspect repeated the same plea. After the emotional outbursts, the case was suspended for 13 days, with a rescheduled hearing later this month.
