DCI Vows to Ensure Security After Thika Road Chaos During Ruto's Tour

On Thursday evening, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) assured Kenyans of its commitment to maintaining national security. The statement followed the disruptive incidents that occurred while President William Ruto was conducting his tour across Nairobi County.

The DCI confirmed that those responsible for attempting to disrupt the tour would be arrested and held accountable. One of the suspects was reportedly armed with a knife, while President Ruto was addressing the crowd in Kibra. The authorities made it clear that such disruptions would not be tolerated, and the law would take its course on anyone attempting to cause unrest during official events.

In its statement, the DCI emphasized that the president's functions must remain undisturbed by hooligans. They urged the public to cooperate with investigators to ensure the safety of the Head of State and maintain order during his public engagements.

Additionally, the DCI called on Kenyans to help identify those believed to be behind the orchestrated violence, including those who may have sponsored the individuals responsible for the chaos.
