During the burial of his party leader, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna surprised many guests with his choice of clothes. Instead of a formal suit, he arrived in tight trousers and a simple shirt, which immediately caught the attention of security officers and other attendees.

Some security officers even stopped him, asking, “Is this how you dress for your party leader’s burial?” Their reaction showed just how unexpected his casual look was for such a serious occasion.

Blogger Robert Alai reported that Sifuna was briefly confused by the reactions. For a moment, he considered going home to change into formal clothes, but he decided to stay and attend the burial as he was.

The incident sparked discussions online and among those who attended the funeral. Some argued that leaders should always wear formal clothes at important events like funerals.
