On Thursday morning at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), drama unfolded when the body of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga arrived in the country from India.
During the event, a Standard Media journalist, Nicholas Biwott, left many people in shock after he was seen running after President William Ruto’s motorcade.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Biwott is captured running at high speed while trying to take photos of the president’s convoy.
The situation almost turned tragic as he was nearly hit by one of the fast-moving vehicles in the motorcade.
Other journalists who were also covering the event are seen in the background following him while taking pictures as President Ruto’s convoy left JKIA after officially receiving Raila’s body. The incident caused mixed reactions both at the scene and online.
Many Kenyans were surprised and expressed concern over the journalist’s actions, saying he was risking his life for the sake of a story.
Others criticized him for acting carelessly, noting that such behavior could lead to serious injury or even death.
