According to reports from local and international media, Raila collapsed during his usual morning walk within the compound of an Ayurvedic treatment centre in Koothattukulam, Kerala State, India.
Efforts by medics to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at a nearby private hospital.
