Five Arrested in Kajiado, Stolen Government Stores Recovered

Five people are in police custody after a late-night operation in Kajiado exposed a stash of stolen government property.

According to officers from Ongata Rongai Police Station, the chain of arrests began during a routine patrol when two men were spotted loitering suspiciously near the PEFA church. Upon stopping them, a quick search revealed a pair of handcuffs concealed in one suspect’s jacket.

One of the men tried to flee but was cornered after a short chase. The duo later told police they had acquired the items from another individual whose whereabouts remain unknown.

The suspects then guided the officers to the Kware area, where a search of a premises uncovered four spent cartridges and a police baton. Three more individuals were arrested at the scene, raising the total number of suspects to five.

Authorities confirmed that the recovered items have been kept as exhibits to aid ongoing investigations. They emphasized that such tools, if left in the wrong hands, could be used to commit violent crimes.
