The National Land Commission (NLC) has announced that it will buy land in Kiambu County to build the Ndekere–Kwa Macharia–Cuninki Road.
In a public notice on August 8, the commission said that the land needed for the project is in Ndurugu and Gacharage areas, measuring about 0.217 hectares. The land belongs to both private owners and public institutions.
NLC has asked the affected landowners to visit its offices in Nairobi or Kiambu to check details of the project and see how their land will be affected.
This comes just a week after the commission announced other land purchases in the county for several road projects, including the Gatundu–Karinga–Flyover Road and the International School of Kenya–Gathiga Road.
People whose land will be taken must send a written claim for payment to NLC. They must also provide copies of their ID, KRA PIN, proof of land ownership, and bank account details. Companies must include their registration papers and details of their directors.
