"I'm Not Safe" Activist Raises Alarm as He Urges Kenyans to Keep Demanding Justice for Albert Ojwang

On Monday evening, a popular activist known for speaking out against the government raised alarm over his safety.

The activist, who often posts on social media about issues like extra-judicial killings and abductions, now says that his life may be in danger.

In a statement he made on his social media account, the activist who goes by the name I'm Chege, said that he has noticed strange things happening on his mobile phone. According to him, the phone is acting in ways that show someone might be tracking his movements and listening to his private calls.

"I'm not safe," he wrote. "I know someone is following my activities closely. My phone is showing signs of being tracked."

Even though he fears for his life, the activist asked Kenyans not to be silent. He urged them to continue pushing for justice for Albert Ojwang, the man who died while in police custody. Chege believes that if anything happens to him, Kenyans should not give up the fight for justice.

“Please, even if something happens to me, do not stop asking for justice for Albert Ojwang,” he added.
