Former Baringo Senator Warns of National Collapse, Criticizes Ruto-Raila Handshake and IEBC Appointments

A former Senator from Baringo County has raised concerns about the future of the country, predicting a potential collapse if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials are selected from Raila Odinga and William Ruto's political strongholds.

In a statement on Saturday, the politician expressed alarm that the ongoing handshake between Ruto and Raila could lead to the appointment of IEBC officials from Nyanza and Rift Valley, which he vehemently condemned.

He criticized the political unity between Ruto and Raila, claiming it holds no tangible benefit for ordinary Kenyans and could instead lay the groundwork for future political crises.

The former senator further questioned the government's commitment to the people, raising concerns over the roles of the majority and minority whips within the government structure.

"We are facing a significant dilemma in the country right now," he said. "Both the opposition and the government have chosen to work together, but my question is, who will stand up for Kenyans? We are in a precarious situation."
